Before you go

The first-timer tax

  1. 01

The €22 Louvre ticket isn't yours.

That's the EEA rate. Non-EEA visitors pay €32, and the two-rate table is easy to misread on the way in.

  2. 02

Booking the Orsay online costs more.

€16 online against €14 at the desk. It's one of the only museums in Europe that charges you for the convenience.

  3. 03

    Say bonjour first.

Walking up and opening in English reads as brusque. One word fixes it, and it costs nothing.
